Ubisoft to make Web3 Magic & Magic TCG 🪄
Ubisoft have announced Might & Magic Fates, a trading card game with optional Immutable-based web3 features, which will release later in 2025.
Developed in-house by Ubisoft - and rumoured to have been in-development since 2023 - the upcoming title has been described as Immutable's "biggest partnership yet" by co-founder Robbie Ferguson.
The latest title in the 40+ year Might & Magic franchise, Might & Magic Fates will be a free-to-play title with optional web3 features. Individual cards will be minted on the Immutable blockchain, giving players a way to add cosmetic flair to their experience.
An exact release date for Might & Magic Fates is expected to be announced in the coming months.
Solana introduce free Game Pass NFT 🕹️
Solana have introduced the Solana Game Pass, a free NFT aimed at encouraging players to explore both new and existing games on the network.
Available to mint via Magic Eden, the Game Pass gives holders early access to selected titles and the chance to earn crypto-based prizes by completing specific tasks. Season 0 is now underway, with participating games including Star Atlas, Nyan Heroes, MixMob: Racer 1 and many more.
More than 30,000 Game Pass NFTs have been minted so far. Solana has indicated that the Game Pass programme will continue beyond the initial season, with additional features and participating games planned for future editions.
No winners for $10k Goblintown prize 😞
In a three-day pop-up at New York's Union Square, no eligible participants were able to complete Goblintown's Really Hard Driving Game on their first attempt, despite hundreds of entries and a $10,000 prize on the line.
Goblintown: Really Hard Driving Game is a physics-based arcade game, where players are challenged to guide their vehicle throughout a range of increasingly difficult hazards. The game is expected to release to players worldwide by the end of April 2025.
Pop-up events will continue across the United States in the coming weeks, with Goblintown set to make an appearance at both PAX East in Boston, MA and DreamHack in Dallas, Texas.
