John Smedley reveals Reaper Actual 👀

Game industry stalwart John Smedley – best known for his work on EverQuest, PlanetSide and at Amazon Games – has announced a web3 shooter titled Reaper Actual.

The debut title of his brand-new studio Distinct Possibility Studios, the game is described as “an open world persistent shooter”, where players build and conquer user-owned bases for blockchain-based rewards.

In the announcement, Smedley revealed that his team have raised $30.5 million USD to bring Reaper Actual to life, with the game expected to fully release in early 2026.

EVE Frontier opens 10-day free trial

Web3 MMO EVE Frontier has opened a 10-day free trial, allowing anyone to try out the burgeoning strategy title for free until July 7.

Coming three weeks after the official Founder Access launch on June 11 – which required a minimum $39.99 USD purchase – this move hopes to encourage more players to try out the game; both Web3 fans, and existing EVE Online players from the traditional gaming space.

This week-long free trial coincides with the release of a brand-new tutorial that explains some of EVE Frontier‘s unique systems, and guides players in how to get started in their first hour of gameplay.

Pudgy Party set for imminent release 🐧

Rumours have began to circulate on social media that Pudgy Party – the Fall Guys-esque title based on Pudgy Penguins, and developed by Mythical Games – is set for an imminent release.

Members of the Pudgy Penguins and Mythical Games teams, alongside beta testers, have been ramping up communication surrounding the game over the past week, with videos of gameplay hitting social feeds on a growing basis.

Pudgy Party is set to be a core component of the Pudgy Penguins gaming offering, with Telegram game Pengu Clash having arrived in May 2025, Polar Challenge game cabinets hitting arcades across the US, and further initiatives set to release across the rest of the year.
